Floyd "Butch" Cockerham VIEW PROFILE

Mr. Floyd L. Cockerham, III, affectionately known as Butch, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem following a period of illness. 

He was born to the late Floyd L. Cockerham, Jr. and Darrie Campbell Cockerham in Winston-Salem, NC on May 12, 1954. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1972. Mr. Cockerham served in the United States Army from 1974-1976. He worked for Hanes/Sara Lee for 17 years and also Douglas Battery until his retirement. 

In 1975 he married Sylvia Correll Martin and had two children. He is survived by his son Roderick (Tomeka) Cockerham and daughter Monique (Dean) Reynolds both of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by five sisters: Dorothy Parker of Kalamazoo MI, Shirley McMillian of St. Louis MO, Ruby Cockerham, Mary McCoy, and Teresa Howell all of Winston-Salem. Mr. Cockerham is preceded in death by his two brothers Michael Cockerham and Robert Cockerham. He has six grandchildren, four nieces, four nephews, and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
