James Arlon Henderson, Jr. passed away on March 10, 2022 in Winston Salem. He was born on March 31, 1954 to the late James Henderson, Sr. and Pat Key Henderson.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed at Seymore Johnson. During his active duty, Jimmy began working on airplanes as a mechanic; something that would become a passion in his life. He retired from Piedmont Air/American Airlines as lead mechanic with over 30 years of experience. This passion spilled into his personal life as well. He loved participating in flying Ultralights. Jimmy loved vehicles: fast cars, old cars, motorcycles, and particularly his golf cart. He would ride that thing all through the neighborhood speaking with everyone. His favorite thing of all was spending time with his family, especially if it was over a good meal and partying. He loved his music and playing it loud.

Jimmy was very outgoing, his ease at making friends was remarkable. Everyone who had the honor of meeting him will surly miss his fun-loving spirit.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Cummings and Jeff Henderson (Wendy); grandchildren, Carma Cummings and Justice Cummings; sister, Brona Harrison (Tommy); mother of his children and friend, Linda; niece, Angela Lashells (Kevin); nephew, JT Harrison (Heather); and many other loved ones and friends.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, March 17th at 1pm at Vogler Funeral & Cremations. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will follow at 2pm officiated by Pastor Rick LeBaube. He will be buried at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
