Marty was born in Forsyth County, North Carolina on February 13, 1954, the daughter of Ray Charles Mathis and Violet Swink Mathis. She was raised in Winston Salem, NC and attended local schools. Marty was a member at United Baptist Church on Murray Rd.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, LindsayKae Burns and her father, Ray Charles Mathis. She is survived by her daughter, LeahRae (Andrew) Davis, her mother Violet Mathis, three sisters, Bunny (Danny) Hemric , Carol (Ed) Alley, and Linda (Charlie) Clayton, her close friend and confidante Keith Burns, her grandchildren Wyatt and Emma Davis, Tyson and Kaelin Thompson, and countless extended family and friends.
