Jolene Helsabeck (Massie) VIEW PROFILE

The WXII family lost one of its brightest lights Wednesday afternoon when Jolene Massie died, just four days shy of her 68th birthday. Massie had been battling cancer and was recently moved to in-home hospice care. Known as the station's Director of First Impressions, she was known for her cheerful personality and upbeat, positive attitude during her 14 years in WXII's lobby on Coliseum Drive in Winston-Salem. Earlier this month, dozens of current and former WXII employees took part in a caravan drive-by at her home in Winston-Salem where they could speak to her through a microphone as she listened through an open window. For most, it would be the last time they would see her.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, as well as their children and grandchildren. WXII President and General Manager Michelle Butt said the station, "will not be the same without Jolene Massie. So tonight, I give a prayer of thanks that our friend no longer suffers. Perhaps more importantly I am grateful God saw fit to make her a part of my life; something not everyone was fortunate enough to experience."

Heaven certainly gained an Angel when Jolene arrived..... she was Always sweet, kind and smiling, anytime we ever crossed paths in our 12 school years together....unfortunately after graduation we lost contact... but then reconnected on FB!!!!!!!    She was blessed with a loving husband, children & grandchildren whom I'm  sure greatly miss her, but hopefully find solace....in knowing she is well & walking Heaven's streets....💖
Go Rest High Jolene, love, Ruth Briles

Jolene will be sorely missed on many fronts.  A lovely, vivacious gal, so friendly and I will always remember her for her smile and infectious personality!  Rest in peace, my friend!

Jolene was a sweet soul.  After graduation we would ride together to Integon and she'd talk about wrestling!  My husband is her cousin and he'd talk about their fun beach trips with all the cousins.  Her smile was as big as her heart.  She will be missed by all that knew her and I will also miss her daily devotions.   Heaven gained a beautiful Angel.
