Mr. Donald Michael Lash was born in Winston-Salem, NC on July 21, 1954 to the late Conrad and Willie Mae Lash.

He attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of North Forsyth High School. He continued his formal education at Winston-Salem State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

In addition to his love for history, he was also an avid sports fan. He especially loved basketball and lovingly encouraged his nephews and cousins to share in his enthusiasm for the sport, whether they wanted to or not.

Mr. Lash was a member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. There he participated often in church ministries and activities.

He passed away on September 28, 2026 after a period of declining health. In addition to his parents, Conrad Lash and Willie Mae Hauser Lash, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward Lash, Sr. and Willie Gray Lash, Sr.

He is survived by his niece, Iris Peterson; nephews: Willie Lash, Edward Lash, Kim Lash and William Lash; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment in Bethania AME Zion Church Cemetery, 2102 Bethania Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27106.
