I am deeply saddened to learn of Debbie's passing.  We'd gone to school together since first grade, and I'd enjoyed catching up with her at our 40th reunion.

Years ago, my friend Laura and I were talking about cruising Stratford and Triangle.  We talked about our old friends we hadn't seen in years, and she mentioned Debbie.  Laura grew up in Yadkin County and had no idea I knew Debbie.  I knew how to reach Debbie, called her and gave her Laura's number.  They were able to talk, meet and catch up on time gone by.  All too soon, Laura and I went to Debbie's wake together.  I feel fortunate to have called her my friend.
