Denise McDaniel (Graham)

Ella Denise McDaniel Graham, 53, wife of Harry T. Graham Sr. of Dalzell, was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Born Nov. 17, 1954, in Woodrow, Lee County, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Annie Mae Myers McDaniel. She was raised in Winston-Salem, N.C., by Jack C. and Thelma M. Cooper. "Nise," as she was affectionately called, attended Anderson High School and graduated from North Forsyth High School of North Carolina. While there, she participated in the marching band and various extracurricular activities. She furthered her education at Winston-Salem State University. Later she moved back to South Carolina and began her career at Becton-Dickinson, where she worked for the past 35 years. She also attended Sumter Technical College, where she received many certifications. Nise gave her life to Christ at an early age in North Carolina, where she attended White Rock Baptist Church. After moving back to South Carolina, she rededicated her life at Joshua Baptist Church, where she served on the YWA committee.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of 35 years, Harry T. Graham Sr.; three loving children, Shauna (Leon) Page and LaWaunda A. Graham, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Harry "T." Graham II of the home; a devoted mother-in-law, Pauline Graham; four brothers, John H. (Luluwa) McDaniel of Sumter, Edward L. (Georgia) McDaniel, James C. (Christine) McDaniel of Atlanta and Elijah A. (Geneva) McDaniel; two sisters, Loretta McDaniel of Sumter and Janice (James) Croskey of Dalzell; a stepsister, Cheryl (Ned) Cooper of Winston-Salem; a devoted cousin, Horace (Deltra) Bonner of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Justin A. Graham, Kaitlyn Z. Graham and Shalayia D. Graham; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry (Barbara) Graham, Samuel (Louise) Graham, William (Essie Mae) Graham, Freddie M. (Howard) Sanford, Dorothy (Hope) Davis, Mary (John) Porter and Rosa Lee (James) Mardis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and her church family.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, John H. McDaniel Sr. and Annie M. McDaniel, and Jack C. Cooper and Thelma M. Cooper; her father-in-law, Nelson Graham; and her brother-in-law, William Graham.

Ella Denise McDaniel Graham was born on November 17, 1954 and passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

Ella was a resident of Dalzell, South Carolina at the time of passing.

She furthered her education at Winston-Salem State University.

Ella was married to Harry.

Funeral services will be held Noon, Saturday, October 18, 2008 from The Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell with the Reverend Eugene G. Dennis, pastor, Minister Rosa Muldrow, eulogist, Rev. R. L. Williams, presiding, assisted by Minister Dorothy Maple, Minister William Jefferson, Rev. Detric Porter, and Rev. William Sanders. The family will receive friends at her home 3960 Cannery Road, Dalzell. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11:00 A. M. The funeral procession will leave from the home at 11:30 a. m. Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
